Meet in Whitefish, Montana. Ride to the base of Big Mountain along the shores of Whitefish Lake.

Meet in the resort town of Whitefish, Montana. (Flights are available to Glacier Park International Airport from multiple locations - or you may wish to take Amtrak's Empire Builder train.) After a bike fitting, head out for a cruise along Whitefish Lake, a crystal-clear body of water covering 3,300+ acres. Enjoy a delightful picnic lunch in the grassy park and cool your toes in the water. Hop back on your bike and crank it up a notch (or gear) for a quick climb up to our lodging. Tonight, recharge at European-style Kandahar Lodge at the base of Big Mountain.

Ride from Big Mountain to West Glacier.

Ride from Kandahar Lodge through farm and woodland, more or less following the curves of Haskill Creek. Skirt the southwest edge of Lake McDonald and cross the South Fork of the Flathead River to West Glacier (about 45 miles.) Get ready to ride through the epic landscapes of Going to the Sun Road tomorrow.

Ride iconic Going-to-the-Sun Road, then downhill to cruise the shores of St. Mary Lake and finish at the lodge there.

Today's ride is amazing - and a bit of a challenge. Glacier National Park's Going-to-the-Sun Road (also known as Logan Pass) is one of the country's best one-day rides. Get an early start through the rolling country and into the forested woodlands as you begin an amazing journey. Bicycle past waterfalls, snow-capped mountains and sweeping vistas of pristine glacial valleys. Breathtaking! Not up for a challenge? Hop into the support van for a boost now and then and just enjoy the scenery. Cruise the 20-mile gentle downhill on the other side, then skirt the shores of St. Mary Lake to finish at St. Mary Lodge.

Ride south to East Glacier this morning. After a gourmet picnic finale, it's back to Whitefish.

Ride south from St. Mary Lodge to East Glacier today. Cross rivers and streams and watch for wildlife as you enjoy a scenic 25-mile jaunt. Enjoy a lunchtime finale celebration in East Glacier. Explore a bit, then it's back in the van for the cruise back to Whitefish.
