On this most romantic tour, you’ll explore the tranquil back roads, covered bridges and vineyards of this enchanting area. It’s also ideal for those with differing ability levels or who have limited vacation time. DAY 1

Meet in Portland, Oregon. Ride from award winning Anne Amie Vineyards to Willakenzie Estate.

Your trip starts with a Monday morning pick up in Portland, and a shuttle to the town of Newburg where the cycling starts. We’ll ride on rural roads to the Willakenzie Estate winery near Yamhill, known for its lovely grounds and facilities as much as for its wine. After a leisurely lunch and wine tasting, we’ll shuttle south to our lodging for the week at award-winning Youngberg Hill Inn. This is truly a special place of luxury and romance; you'll have plenty of time to enjoy our rooms, the commanding view, and a walk through the 50 acre working estate and vineyards.

DAY 2

Ride to world-class Lawrence Gallery, showcase of fine Pacific Northwest art, and to historic Dayton, Oregon’s oldest neighborhood.

On Tuesday, after feasting on the inn’s tasty breakfast, we’ll cycle from the inn downhill to the valley floor, stopping at an impressive art gallery. We’ll continue through farmland to another winery for lunch. Afterward, we’ll shuttle back to our inn, stopping at the Evergreen Aviation Museum to take a look at the Spruce Goose, a spy plane, and more than 75 historical aircraft.

DAY 3

Savor the offerings on a tour of the Willamette Valley’s finest wineries. Enjoy a spa treatment or massage. Explore turn-of-the-century McMinnville.

Wednesday we’ve scheduled a van tour of some of the most interesting wineries in the area, with plenty of time for tasting at each (if you prefer to bicycle, that’s an option as well.) We’ll have lunch at a delightful café in old town McMinnville, and also visit the art galleries and boutique shops.

DAY 4

Ride a peaceful lane curving along the banks of the Willamette River. Relish a final gourmet picnic amidst the oaks and ash trees of Champoeg State Heritage Area before heading back to Portland.

Thursday we cycle south through the relatively flat Willamette Valley past fields of nursery stock, over covered bridges and along peaceful roads. We cross the Willamette River on a small ferry and cycle north through fertile farmland to a large state park where we conclude the trip. After lunch among the oaks of Champoeg State Park, we’ll shuttle back to Portland.
