We’ll hike on peaceful Mt. Adams amid wildflower fields, cycle a brand-new bike trail along the Columbia River, and go whitewater rafting down the White Salmon River. Oregon Crater Lake Cycling TourA sapphire nesting on the mountaintop, with tiny Wizard Island accenting its waters, Crater Lake is a thing of mystery, an amazing backdrop to this bicycle tour. Its striking azure tranquility is coupled with a violent past: Native American legend tells of a furious battle between gods and chiefs warring over a lovely princess – a holocaust of hurtling boulders and landslides of fire. The fray ended in the mountain’s collapse, leaving behind an empty bowl. With no access to outside water, what became the deepest lake in the country is a crater filled entirely with snowmelt. Oregon Wine Country Cycling TourThe Oregon Wine country centered in Yamhill County just 40 miles southwest of Portland continues to grow and win international acclaim ⎯ particulary for its Pinot Noir. The area has some of the best restaurants in the state and great cycling on rural roads. We limit this trip to just four couples who will enjoy all three nights at a special bed and breakfast.
