TOUR LEADERS

If you are interested in leading trips in 2009 and beyond, please fill out our online job application. Applicants must be educated, mature, outgoing people who are self-motivated and enjoy helping people get the most from their vacation. Leaders also must live within a two-hour drive of Olympia, Washington. Medical and dental benefits are available.

Our hiring process starts with the submittal of resumes in January and February and continues with interviews in February and March. Finalists are invited to one of 2-3 hiring weekends in April. Upon the completion of a short training period, guides begin working in June or July.

1st Step (January-March)

2nd Step (February-March)

Once this information has been received, the operations manager will contact you for further discussions. After a brief phone interview, you may be asked to attend one-on-one in-person interviews.

3rd Step (March-April)

After interviews, potential employees will be invited to attend one of the two hiring weekends in late March and early April. Your attendance at one of these weekends is REQUIRED to be eligible for employment.

2009 Hiring Weekends:

You will be responsible for your transportation to Olympia and your accommodations. This is not a paid interview.

On Saturday we will all go for a 50-60 mile bicycle ride near Olympia. In the evening BA will take you out to dinner at a fine restaurant in Olympia. On Sunday you will be reviewed on a number of items, including bike maintenance, vehicle operations, teamwork and a few other fun scenarios.

After both hiring weekends, the reviewers will compare your performance against a number of people. You will be notified within a week if we would like for you to consider working at Bicycle Adventures. Good luck! Please make sure you can clear your schedule for one of these weekends.

4th Step (April-May)

Once you have been asked to become an employee, you will need the following items before you are eligible for employment. You are required to submit a copy of these items in a timely fashion.

  2. Driver's license
  3. Proof of Vehicle Operator Liability Insurance to operate a vehicle
  4. Current Driving Record:

5th Step (Dates to be Announced)

After your paperwork is submitted you will be REQUIRED to attend the training weekend on a date to be announced. This is a paid assignment.

All new staff will need to pass our equipment training, vans & trailers. This also is a paid program.
