Lodging

“Accommodations are plush.”
— Conde Nast Traveler

Relax on a deck overlooking a serene lake in the San Juan Islands.  Marvel at the impossible blue of Crater Lake from your spacious room above.  Indulge yourself at your hotel’s full-service spa in the heart of California’s wine country.  These are a few of the wonderful options available to you at some of the places we stay.

Constant Re-Evaluation

Our regional expertise, constant re-evaluation of last year’s inns, and continuing search for the best experience insures that our lodging is always among the finest the area has to offer.

By limiting the number of guests on each trip, we expand our choices and are able to fit into some smaller, award-winning bed and breakfasts and country inns that wouldn't be able to accommodate a group of 25 or more.

Lodging: Two People to a Room With Private Bath

Lodging is based upon two people to a room with a private bath.  If you're traveling solo on any of our trips, we'll assign you a roommate of the same gender and often of the same age bracket.  There is no extra charge if we can't find you a roommate, even if you sign up the day before the trip starts.  You can guarantee yourself a private room and bath if you pay the Single Room Fee.  Occasionally a room with two beds consists of one bed plus a rollaway bed or sofa bed.  Call our office to see if this is applicable to the trip and date you select.

Campgrounds Have Full Facilities

On our camping trips we stay in beautiful parks with full facilities, including flush toilets and hot showers every night.  We provide all camping gear, including Thermarest sleeping pads, towels, and roomy tents.  You furnish personal items including pillow, sleeping bag liner, and sleeping bag (rentals available).

People are talking

The lodging is phenomenal, as are the meals and the great friends you meet along the way.”

This might be more expensive than planning a trip yourself, but it was worth it. We stayed in several hotels in national parks with charm and beautiful scenery surrounding us. The hotels required planning ahead for reservations.”

We enjoyed both inns on the tour. The Edenwild was charming and comfortable, and the breakfast there was great. Lakedale Lodge was beautiful, and I loved the huge whirlpool bathtub.”

All of the accommodations were clean, roomy, and well located — much nicer than I expected on the ‘budget’ tour. Hot tubs were definitely appreciated at the end of the day!”
