Meet in Bergen, a city with 900 years of history. Cruise through the Sognefjord, the world's longest, deepest fjord. Ride beside the shoreline to Balestrand, then ferry to Dragsvik.

Meet in Bergen, at the Express Boat Dock or a nearby hotel. Hop aboard the Express for a 3-hour cruise through the magnificent Sognefjord – the longest, deepest fjord in the world. Sail past sheer rock faces, snowy peaks and emerald hillsides bedecked with tiny farms. From the dock at Vik, ride south along the flat coastline of the Arnafjord to the tiny hamlet of Nese. Stay at the Dragsvik Fjordhotell, right on the shore of the Sognefjord.

Day 02

Bike the Gaularfjellet National Tourist Route up to the summit, then beside calm fjord waterfront to the Walaker. Built in 1690, it's the oldest family-run hotel in Norway.

Two ride options today. This morning, you can go for a hike, or an optional pedal the Gaularfjellet National Tourist Route – a serene ride through protected lands studded with waterfalls, wild rapids, and glaciers. Jaw-dropping mountain views await! This afternoon, ride to the Walaker Hotel, the oldest family-run hotel in Norway, set beside the fjord in the idyllic village of Solvorn. Do one ride or both – you can’t lose either way.

Day 03

The Romantic Ride. Bicycle a traffic-free route along the fjord, with stops for coffee and a cinnamon roll and views of the glacier.

Today’s route is called the Romantic Ride. Savor a traffic-free ride along the fjord. Stop for coffee, a cinnamon roll, and a photo op. Back on the bicycle, continue along the shoreline to the Urnes Stave Church dating from the 1100s and visit Feigumfossen – Norway’s 2nd highest waterfall (229m/750 ft vertical drop). Spend a second night at the Walaker.

Catch the ferry to Laerdal this morning. Today’s breathtaking ride takes you to Aurland Valley, sometimes called Norway’s Grand Canyon. Steep mountains, thundering waterfalls, and narrow ravines shape a landscape where tiny farms cling to green hillsides. Tonight: stay at Vangsgaarden, snuggled into the innermost corner of the Sognefjord, Enjoy lovely rooms overlooking the fjord and the mighty peaks above.

Day 05

Go for a rib boat fjord safari today. Other options include a hike to a local farm or up onto the glacier, or a bike ride.

Take a fjord safari in a rigid-hulled inflatable boat (a ‘Rib Boat’). View porpoises, seals and eagles and sample handmade artisanal goat cheeses at a local farm. Soak up the sun by the shoreline. Back at the hotel, we celebrate a glorious week in Viking-style. Help us tackle the “Viking Plank,” a 5-course feast of local meats, seafood, and veggies, paired with beers brewed on site.

Day 06

Hop aboard the train for the ride back to Bergen: National Geographic Traveler calls this 'one of the Top 10 train journeys in Europe.'
