Who is Angela?
Angela grew up in Oklahoma and after graduating college (Oklahoma State University), moved to Kansas City. For Angela’s first foray into adulthood she worked as a structural engineer for 7 years. Believe it or not Angela didn’t learn how to ride a bicycle until she was an adult. She had always been active, and one day arbitrarily decided riding a bicycle was probably a life skill she should have. As it turns out Angela fell in love with cycling. She decided to combine her love of cycling with her love of visiting new places and dove headlong into bike travel, bike touring, and bike packing. Angela (and her husband) have gone on many self supported overnight bike camping adventures and a few longer tours as well, most notably they road the entire U.S. Pacific Coast on their tandem!
When COVID hit and turned the whole world upside down Angela adopted a new mantra for herself: “optimize joy”. She quit her engineering job and moved to Portland where she has fallen in love with Oregon, the nature, and the bicycle community she found there.

Favorite Vacation Destination:

The next one. I love seeing new places. I try to plan at least a few trips a year to somewhere new (whether near or far). Sadly my list keeps growing faster than I can manage to check places off!

If I had a superpower:

The ability to freeze time. There's too many things to see and do and not enough time to do them all!

Where will find me when I not working/guiding:

Either at home lounging about (ie "cozy mode") or out on a bike ride socializing with friends.

Volunteer activities:

In the off season I like to help out with Trail Keepers of Oregon (TKO). Through the organization we maintain and clean up hiking trails.
